Bowls Scotland Announce Charity Partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support
Bowls Scotland have agreed a two year charity partnership deal with Macmillan Cancer Support where both parties will work together to raise funds for the charity with the help of the bowling community throughout Scotland.
Macmillan Cancer Support provide practical, emotional and personal support to those affected by cancer. Everyday eighty-five people in Scotland are given the devastating news that they have cancer, and with this figure set to rise, Bowls Scotland have pledged to work with their member clubs and fundraise to support these individuals and their loved ones.
Working closely with Bowls Scotland over the next two years, Macmillan Cancer Support aim to raise awareness of the charity and the support they deliver to individuals across the country.
Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager, Laura Stockwell said:
“We are delighted to be working with Bowls Scotland over the next two years. At Macmillan, we know how cancer can affect everything. We’re here to help people live life, no matter what, but we can't do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us.”
She added, “The money raised will go towards helping Macmillan support people affected by cancer at the time they need us most. We are looking forward to working with the member clubs of Bowls Scotland to help them come up with some great fundraising ideas and hope they are just as excited by this new partnership as we are.”
Commenting on the partnership, CEO of Bowls Scotland, Alan McMillan said:
“We are delighted to welcome Macmillan Cancer Support as our charity partner. We are continually looking at ways to support and work closely with our member clubs and partnering with Macmillan will assist us to do this. The money raised will be put towards a great cause which Bowls Scotland are delighted to support.”
